SUCCESS IN COLLEGE AND BEYOND WITH ADHD

ADHD Hellas is organizing a one-day seminar on Preparing Young Adults with ADHD to Thrive in College & Beyond that will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Deree - The American College of Greece.

Experts in the fields of ADHD and coaching will present on the special challenges faced by college students with ADHD and effective strategies for their success in college and beyond. Guest speaker and presenter Lisa Joy Tuttle, MA, BCC is a Board Certified Executive Skills Coach and Career Coach at the Penn Adult Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Treatment & Research Program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Medicine. Her signature coaching model Mindful Self-Management® integrates current understandings of behavior change, mindfulness, and ADHD and has revealed quantifiable improvement in core executive functioning domains.

The seminar is organized by the Pan-Hellenic Association of Individuals with Attention Deficit Disorder, ADHD Hellas under the auspices of the Institute of Behavioral Research and Therapy.

Students with ADHD have a hard time concentrating, staying on task, managing their time and energy and keeping up with the demands of school work. As they move into adulthood and transition into independent living and college, their executive functions are tested to the limit.

Getting up on time, managing their deadlines and increased class work, balancing their social life with their responsibilities, keeping track of all their class requirements and their day to day living put them at a high risk for failing and dropping out. 

This event is a golden opportunity not only for students (with diagnosed ADHD/ or undiagnosed with academic difficulties in the areas of time management, procrastination, organization and concentration)for teachers, parents and clinicians too!
All need to be aware of ADHD as 1 in 20 students have it (diagnosed or not) based on worldwide statistics.
